The Schrafft's Chocolates box indicates that this napkin may have been a gift or a keepsake. Schrafft's was a well-known chocolate and confectionery company based in Boston, Massachusetts, popular throughout the early to mid-20th century. The monogrammed napkin, with its intricate damask pattern, represents a time when personalized linens were a symbol of elegance and status. This combination of a personalized napkin and a vintage chocolate box offers a nostalgic glimpse into the past.
This lot features a vintage monogrammed fringed napkin, stored in a Schrafft's Chocolates box. The napkin, measuring approximately 16 inches by 16 inches (including fringe), is made of white damask fabric and features a decorative fringe along the edges. The napkin is monogrammed with the name "St. Chaplin," adding a personal touch. The box, labeled "No. 1 Red Heart Schrafft's Chocolates," measures approximately 10 inches by 10 inches by 2 inches and is a charming addition, highlighting a bit of Americana.
The napkin shows signs of age with some visible stains and minor fraying along the fringe. The fabric remains intact and the monogram is still legible. The box is in good condition with some wear consistent with its age, including minor surface marks and slight discoloration.
