This framed lithograph, Contortionistas, 1944, showcases a dynamic and expressive composition by Jose Clemente Orozco (1883 - 1949 Mexico). The scene depicts a surreal and abstract gathering of figures in motion, rendered with bold and dramatic line work. The artist's signature appears in the lower right “J. C. Orozco.” The piece is framed in a classic black and gold trim wooden frame, which complements the monochromatic tones of the lithograph.

Height: 23 1/8"  Width: 27 1/4"

Condition

  • Frame: The frame shows moderate wear consistent with age, including minor scuffing and scratches on the gold trim.
  • Glass and Mat: The glass is intact, with no visible cracks or chips, while the matting has minor discoloration typical of aging.
  • Lithograph: The lithograph itself is in good condition, with no significant creasing, tears, or stains. There is a slight yellowing of the paper, indicative of vintage material but does not detract from the visual appeal.
